On November 8, 2010 LAcarGUY dealerships became the first in the country to offer public Level 2 SAE J-1772 Electric Vehicle charging stations. LAcarGUY hopes to lead the way in developing an Electric Vehicle infrastructure to advance the public's awareness and transition to Electric and Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles. LAcarGUY plans to install 8 charging stations by the end of 2011.

LAcarGUY EV Charging Station Timeline

  • June 30th: Mike Sullivan announces plans to install level 2 Charging stations during Fisker Santa Monica event. The Fisker will be LAcarGUY's first plug-in vehicle.
  • Nov 8th: Two level 2 EV charging stations go live at Toyota of Hollywood. LAcarGUY owner Mike Sullivan hosted a green ribbon-cutting ceremony at Toyota of Hollywood. Actor/Environmentalist/LAcarGUY customer Ed Begley Jr. was the first to receive a charge in at 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid prototype.
  • Nov 19th: Toyota Santa Monica installs three EV charging stations. Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce President cuts Green Ribbon. Toyota Santa Monica earns Sustainable Business award from Senator Fran Pavley
