I just dropped off my 98 4Runner at H'wood Toyota for new
brakes and AC service.  The service advisor that checked in my car, Oscar
Najera, was one of the friendliest people I have ever encountered at a car
dealership or service place, EVER!  He was very thorough, efficient, fast,
and had a smile on his face the entire time.  The cars were literally
stacked 3 deep but I was in and out of there in about 10 mins.  They even
drove me to work in their courtesy shuttle.  I had to write because there
were so few reviews here and most of them negative.  I initially only gave
3 stars because I haven't picked up my car yet.  Based on the outcome, T
of H could earn the other 2.  Don't let me down boys!



I just got the CALL!  Brakes - $1150 (front and back, rotors and drums),
AC - $20 (apparently all they can do is spray some disinfectant in there.
 EEWWW!)  OK T of H, you just got 1 more star.  The final star
hangs in the balance based on my pick-up experience.  Stay Tuned!



OK I picked up the car and everything is great!  The brakes are perfect!
 The inside smells like butterflies when you turn on the AC! (OK I'm
exaggerating but it does smell great!).  I was only charged for the brake
work so the total came to $1182.19 (parts, labor, and brake fluid change).
 This place rocks!  I'll never take my car anywhere else.

I can't say enough about the service I received...starting
with the salesman, Tony Doyle.  He knows his stuff!  He made car
shopping easy if that's even possible.  Devorah, in financing, was very nice
and took the time to explain everything so I was very comfortable to sign on
the dotted line.  I decided on a Prius the minute Tony put it in reverse
and, to my delight, a camera pops up on the dash board...WOW! ( Granted, I am a
major gadget girl! ) I would highly recommend purchasing from Toyota SM!

I am still finishing up my experience with this shop, but figured
I'd let people know a little bit for those looking now...



The guys at the shop on Colorado Blvd. are quite friendly and willing to
please... Plus, if you go to their website, you can get a coupon for $100 off
any job valued at $500 or more. Just ensure you read the disclaimers in case
there are any; if none, use it towards your deductible! Or, just to save some
cash off the part of your car you may choose to fix while your car is already
in the shop for insurance-covered repairs (which is what I did, after getting
the manager's approval, since the insurance job was technically charged
separately from my less than $500 request).



Before dropping my car there, I did check three other places for prices. LA Car
Guy beat them all and offers a 5-year guarantee on paint jobs. The only
drawback is that they are sometimes slower than they predict--which can add up
for those paying for their rental, as a three-day turnaround estimate turns
into six.



And, sometimes their work is imperfect... but, they fix their work at their
cost, so it evens out in the end usually (still waiting, since my car came back
with a couple new small dents upon return from a corrected paint job--first job
was inaccurate in color, second one was PERFECT!). The guy did say he would talk
to his manager to ameliorate the issue and went on to help me put on my license
plate and change a dead brake light. So, service with a smile... And endurance
in getting the job done right makes me give them 4-stars so far...

I can not believe I am giving a car dealership 5 stars, but
I am.  And only because of the salesperson that I dealth with...



Now I have no experience with the Service Department, but based on the Yelp
reviews here, I will never have my car serviced here.



My vehicle was stolen recently, so I was in the market for a new one.  I
went on carsdirect, and was sent quotes from 3 different dealerships.
 Santa Monica was the highest of the three, so I didn't really think twice
about them.  But shortly after I received the quotes, I had a call from
ESTHER, in the internet sales department.



She asked what my lowest quote was, and beat it.  I was so skeptical
before going in, thinking "If something is too good to be true, it
probably is."   Her quote seemed too good to be true.  I kept
thinking " + fees.  + fees. + fees.  That's how she's going to
swindle me.  Everything is going to be a fee.  Electric windows?
 FEE!"  But that didn't happen.  The price she quoted me
over the phone was the ACTUAL PRICE she charged me when I got there.  She
did not try to sell me any extra features, or a more expensive model, or lie to
me one bit.  She was 100% upfront, and when I got there, everything was as
she promised.



The finance guy was annoying - - - it's really frustrating to hear them pitch a
$6k warranty package that you'll never use, over and over and over again.
  These guys do not understand the word, "No", but gave up on me
after the 5th pitch.  But that was the only bad thing about the
experience.  The most time consuming part was waiting for the car to be
cleaned.



Overall, this is the first time that I have ever left from buying a new
car...and felt refreshed.  Just make sure you deal with ESTHER!!

Great, friendly, competent service at reasonable prices. I have been taking my Toyota Solara there for service for the past 5 years and have always received exemplary service. They have always acted with integrity, never trying to sell me something I didn't need.

Most times I waited for the car and they always delivered it within the time they promised. I never needed to return the car because of shoddy or incomplete service. It was always done right the first time.

Services are followed up by phone calls to make sure I was completely satisfied.b Pat Cabral who is now in a management position over there was particularly helpful and always provided communication and service with "customer satisfaction" in mind.

I highly recommend anyone, particularly those folks who are skeptical about auto repair, to take their car to Toyota of Hollywood for service and repair.

I sold my Solara Convertible to the Used Car Department at Toyota of Hollywood. It was very pleasurable. The manager, Roobik Arakelian was professional, efficient, and acted with complete integrity. He went out of his way to prepare the paperwork efficiently and I was impressed with how he kept his word and provided complete and clear information, and a timely check that I was able to cash immediately. He did it all with a smile and a sense of humor. His assistant, Lupe, contributed to this positive experience.

I highly recommend Toyota of Hollywood for their car service and Used Car transactions.

Testimonial: My experience started with comparison shopping here for a Jetta and while I didn't get it here because the price was the highest of the bunch (figured as much since SM probably has high overhead just due to location), I did come here for service since it is convenient. What started as convenience became complete satisfaction when I saw the price. My previous car was a Toyota and the service was never really less than $100 (even for the minor service - basically an oil change) at Toyota of Hollywood so I was pleasantly surprised at the $65-ish (tax included) price tag for the first service (and cheaper for the next service). Although I do love cars, I am not a mechanic so my measure of how good a service department is at a dealership is based on whether the car is running well after service. Since my car is running in tip-top shape, I have no complaints.

Testimonial: I go to this place only because of J.D the service advisor. Our both VWs are maintained and serviced here. I am happy with the service and if anyone tells you that owning a VW and service/maintainence is cheap then its a lie. Compare it with the costs of a BMW or MB and you are much better off.

JD will squeeze you in for urgent attention and takes pride and gives personal attention to your VW problems. A gentleman.

The Sales Dept. I would never recommend, that's why we bought our two Passats from Livingston VW in Woodland Hills. SM VW is "extremely" not competive  as far as sales of cars. Sucks.

I recently bought a 3rd VW for a friend of mine from another VW dealer as Santa Monica VW was not competetive at all. They were overpriced a lot. You figure it out. Every time I have given them a chance to sell me a car they have failed so far.
