For those in a big hurry to catch the morning glass, the 2025 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is an electric powered surf wagon with brain-melting power. The Cross Turismo's top variant, the Turbo S, now delivers 764 horsepower in normal use and up to 938 horsepower with launch control engaged.  It also charges quickly. When using DC fast-charging, the Cross Turismo can charge to 80% in about 22 minutes. The Porsche Intelligent Range Manager (PIRM) system optimizes route planning based on battery charge and traffic conditions. Porsche currently lists the range of the Cross Turismo at roughly 277 miles, which is more than enough to get you to Rincon and back. The Cross Turismo maintains the Taycan's technological and driver-assistance features, such as automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and available adaptive cruise control.  A word of advice - be sure that you've secured your boards properly before activating launch control and mashing that pedal.

The 2025 Kia Soul with its boxy utilitarian profile, fuel economy and vast interior cargo space is a great budget surf ride with plenty of style. It has a spacious interior, accommodating four adults comfortably and providing ample cargo space with the rear seats folded. The standard Soul comes with a 147-hp four-cylinder engine, Continuously Variable Transmission and front-wheel drive. For 2025, Kia introduces the Soulmate Edition, which includes a Harman/Kardon stereo, unique 18-inch wheels, and a two-tone paint job. While the Soul isn't massively powered it is a smooth driving compact crossover that achieves up to 35 mpg on the highway and 27 mpg in the city.
