Manhattan Beach Pumpkin Race Festival

Mike and LAcarGUY have been longtime supporters and a sponsor of the Manhattan Beach Pumpkin Race with Mike serving as the "MC" for the past several years.  This family-friendly event started in the Tree Section of Manhattan Beach on Halloween Eve in 1990 and has become a huge global success, even featured on the Travel Channel as one of the top 5 Halloween traditions in America.

Each of the LAcarGUY dealerships builds their own unique racing pumpkin and races them in the "LAcarGUY Heat" on the day of the race.  LAcarGUY also sponsors the Pumpkin Parking area each year with a new LAcarGUY model on display near the Manhattan Beach Pier.  Everyone is welcome and encouraged to enter the race and take advantage of the "Tinker Zone" equipped with necessary tools for last minute adjustments to your racer like wheels, axels, and assorted decoration options.  This family fun-filled event is not to be missed!

About the World Famous Pumpkin Race Festival

New Name: World Famous Pumpkin Race Festival

The Pumpkin Race Festival is a free event organized by the City of Manhattan Beach Recreation Dept.  Participants get to race their homemade pumpkin racer down Manhattan Beach Blvd in heats and compete to win! But be aware of cheaters….pumpkins disguised as non-pumpkins…who will be brought to justice by the "Mallet of Justice!"  Pumpkin Race Kits are available for pick up starting in early to mid October at various Manhattan Beach businesses like City Hall, MB Farmers Market, Bella Beach Kids, Pages bookstore, Shade Hotel, Tabula Rasa, Waterleaf Interiors, Becker's Bakery & Deli, and Culture Brewing. Event also includes live music and a pit crew to help with chasing down the pumpkin racers.
